WANNA
BE A "BANDAIDE?" (a
WHAT???)
A
Bandaide is
a person of either gender, musically
educated and at least 16 years
of age or older who will rehearse
consistently with interPLAY
members, perform in the concerts
and give assistance where needed.
interPLAY
is part of the Montgomery County
Service Learning Credits program.
All bandaides receive training
materials and must sign a contract
if community service learning
credits are involved. Have fun
and participate in this volunteer
activity in Montgomery County
Maryland.
Some
of interPLAY's new musicians
need help in counting beats,
assistance in learning where
and when to play his/her instrument
within the musical score and
just participating in general
conversational interaction.
Some
bandaides play their own instruments
during rehearsals and concerts,
some play the same instrument
as the new musician being mentored.
Those bandaides in their senior
year of high school will receive
college recommendation letters
both for admission and scholarships.
Bandaides
-- an excellent way to enjoy
participatory music as a retirement
activity and be part of a music
program at Strathmore.
